MECA’s very own ASB is hosting an after-school dance from 3:30 to 5:30 pm on December 12, the Friday before finals week.
They hope this dance will alleviate the stress students have before finals week.
More importantly, they have made this dance accessible to all students by making it free of charge. Understanding the short notice of the dance and the holidays close by, they’ve decided to gift students with a dance.
The revealed theme of the dance is neon, and please use the appropriate dress attire: UV-reactive or black light-reactive clothing.
The dance will be held in the MPR, and students will be provided with glow sticks to show school spirit.
The music choice will be dance and techno music. If you would like to request a specific song, please speak with ASB or visit Gabe Nichols in room 1 before the dance so that they can add it to their playlist.
ASB has also provided an opportunity for clubs to raise money during the dance outside, in the quad area. The clubs found from Club Rush will be selling different types of beverages, and food will be sold, in hopes that both students and club members will be able to benefit from and enjoy the winter dance.
The currency used for buying and selling food and drinks from the school clubs will be tickets similar to Fall Fest. When you exchange money with ASB, they will give you tickets in return for the amount you give. These tickets will then be given to the clubs you wish to buy from.
ASB would like this dance to be more student-led by allowing students to participate in selling food for their clubs.
To sign a club up for a sales spot, please fill out the Google form or speak with ASB. Make sure to complete the form quickly because the spots are limited. If you have any questions, please feel email ASB adviser Gabe Nichols at [email protected]

I think the theme of this event is very creative, I like the fact that we get to have our own glow sticks. As said in the article, this dance is just before finals which I think many people will appreciate. Especially since a ton of students stress about finals, I’m looking forward to going.

I really like the idea of this dance with the disco and glow sticks! And also the fact that it’s to help with stress before finals week and help clubs gain more traction and funds, like with fall fest. This seems like a lot of fun, I’ll definitely try to go with my sister if im able.

I am considering going to the dance because it seems very fun and all the neon colors are a good addition to it. The free glow sticks make it seem even more fun although I do have one question. Will you be able to invite people who aren’t from our school?

Hi Christian! To answer your question, you are allowed to bring people from other schools. You will need to have your guest fill out a guest form. Mr. Nichols (in room 1) will have forms by Friday.

I am not sure if I will go to this event yet although it seems pretty fun and is a great concept especially before finals. It also is pretty convenient that you can just walk in and exchange tickets for money.

I’m glad that ASB is being considerate of every student. The accessibility and how it’s being structured similar to fall fest would attract many students. I’m sure a lot of people would come and enjoy the dance before finals week.

This is honestly really cool. I have never gone to a dance and i’m surprised that they are giving us the tickets free of cost. I also like how they are doing it because of the final for less stress when they come, i think that will really help students.
Over all this is a really great option if you just want to hang out with your friends and have a good time.

I’m surprised the tickets don´t cost that much. This would honestly be so much better than the winter formal since there isn’t much to do there, plus a waste of money just to stand there.
