Mt. SAC Early College Academy 11th and 12th-grade students attended Azusa Pacific University for a college field trip to get a tour of the school on March 6.
Students were accompanied by Matthew Johnson, P.E. teacher, Michael Reyes, math teacher, and high school counselor Claire Contreras.

After getting to APU, the students were given donuts and hot chocolate, and were able to participate in some activities with the directors.
Tepochtli Cervantes, a senior at MECA, said, “We all ate our donut, talked about APU a bit, and then we all went on tour.”
While they were touring, Johnson had explained how much he enjoyed all the new construction that had happened since he was there. Being an alumnus, he had found all the new stuff intriguing: “The campus has grown, in a sense of all the construction and just the things that are brand new.”
During the trip, the seniors who had gotten accepted and were planning on attending APU the next school year were given certificates. Seniors, Autumn Pagan, Jared Jimenez, Sofia Hernandez, Darlene Pineda, Anthony Reyes, Reyli Salazar, Steven Narindo, Azure Moore, Daceius Bynum, Ava Roman, and Kayla Iniguez, were students who received a certificate for their acceptance into the school and for attending the field trip.
When the tour came to an end, the students were even granted an additional two hours of free time to explore the

campus even more.
“The most noticeable thing in the tour was the campus beauty. It was really nice, there were a lot of trees, and the pathways were really nice and neat. Everything was clean,” Cervantes said.
