Compete For Your Country: The Patriot Games

Categories:

Fourth of July is just over five months away; with that, so is the 250th birthday of the United States of America—officially titled “Freedom 250”. This giant milestone will make the US a quarter of a millennium old.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, current President Donald J. Trump posted a video of himself announcing a first-of-its-kind four-day athletic competition, titled ‘The Patriot Games’, on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025.

“[The Patriot Games will be] the most spectacular birthday party the world has ever seen,” Trump said in an interview with Time Magazine.

How the competition will work is that there will be 100 total players. The players will consist of specially chosen high school athletes. Two will be selected from each state, one boy and one girl.

The competition will last four-days and will be held in Washington DC. Specific games and sports have not yet been revealed at this time; however, the commissioners of the MLB (Major League Baseball), NHL (National Hockey League), NFL (National Football League), and NBA (National Basketball Association) have all met with the president to discuss this new competition, according to the New York Times.

Tickets will be sold to the public for viewings of the final day of the competition. However, prices, dates, and locations have not yet been announced at this time.
