As a member of ASB, senior Matthew “Matt” Diaz has shown his love for Mt. SAC Early College Academy (MECA). When Matt was asked about what he’ll miss most about MECA, Matt explained that he will miss the schedule and “easiness” the most. Elaborating,” It’s a very forward and straight path through high school.” Matt believes his biggest high school achievement will be graduating. “That’ll help me a lot, which is really amazing, saved me a lot of money. That’s probably the biggest achievement but I’ve done so far.”
After 4 years of high school, a student is bound to be different from when they first started their high school year. One could reminisce on how easy freshman year was, have chills when they remember something embarrassing from their first year, or they’d wish they could change what happened so they’ll have better years after freshman year. According to Matt, if he got to meet his freshman self, he would tell himself to take more college courses, “I think it’s a very very important thing to do. I wish I would have done more because I didn’t take advantage of dual enrollment being.”
