Connie Molina is a freshman at Mt. SAC Early College Academy (MECA). Molina came from St. Martha’s Catholic School in La Puente. She first heard about the school from some of her classmates, and from one of the students who had gotten accepted here, her parents had also recommended her. Molina wants to enjoy her years here at MECA and especially take advantage of the college classes that it has to offer!
Molina has her dreams of becoming a zoologist, which made her want to head into this line of work after living in Australia. Since Molina has already seen what it would be like to head on into that line of work, she strives to be able to work in it one day.
Being a zoologist isn’t just one of Molina goals in life, she shared that she really hopes that she will be able to get valedictorian or valedictorian, being an only child, Molina knows she has to do her best, and she is really doing it, her favorite class currently is World History; she enjoys learning about the world and enjoying her time with her classmates, she believes that any history class is interesting and will help her in the future.
“What I really, really hope is to be valedictorian, or salutatorian, but I know I have to keep trying and get good grades,” Molina said
One thing that really solidified Molina’s decision to come was MECA’s close-knit community: “My favorite part of MECA is the people,” she said.
She enjoys the environment that it has, with the people and the teachers. Out in the field, Molina likes to talk to her friends, walk around, and she will sometimes occasionally play a game or two of volleyball with some of the other students.
A big thing she really finds MECA amazing about is the comforting place where the students are nice and won’t judge, “Over here you feel like you belong”, she shared. Molina hopes that the years she has to stay like this.
Outside of academics, however, Molina is a member of the Cheer and Dance team. Although Molina was not able to attend the Covina Christmas parade, she still finds a way to show support for her team, with her encouraging voice and her never-give-up attitude. She enjoys giving energy to MECA, whether it’s with sports or just practice, she always tries her best.

Molina is currently taking Study 100, one of the college courses that is offered to the freshmen here at MECA. Next year, next year however, she hopes to do either arts or ceramics, as she finds arts and crafts interesting.
In Molina’s personal life, she loves to hang out with her friends and spend time with her family.
“What I enjoy most is hanging out with my friends and spending time with my family,” she shared. Molina loves to spend her days with her friends at the mall or just together, with her family, anywhere is perfect for her, she is always excited to spend some holidays with her friends!
In the end, with Molina strong character, her soft personality, hard working nature, Molina is making the most out of her high school experience here at MECA, if it’s just in history class, in her cheer uniform, or outside playing volleyball with her friends, Molina is trying her hardest and pushing through, even while still making the most of her high school moments in MECA.
