Ruby Ortega is a senior here at Mt. SAC Early College Academy and has a passion for writing, reading, and acting.

She has enjoyed these since she was in kindergarten, and says “One of my teachers actually encouraged me to start reading because I was falling behind from other students.” 

She enjoys writing creative and fictional stories that go along with a character going on an adventure, but also provides problems throughout the story that she had faced or gone through before.

Ruby is also into acting. She started acting mainly in the 7th grade when she first joined Speech and Debate.

“I would act out 10-minute monologues in front of an audience,” she describes.

Regardless of the difficulties and struggles doing all of these, Ruby enjoys and continues to have a passion for writing, reading, and acting.
