Scheduled for release in Fall 2026, The Last King of Faerie begins the final trilogy of the Shadowhunter Chronicles. Set three years after The Dark Artifices, the story follows Dru Blackthorn’s journey into the Faerie realm with Ash Morgenstern and a European “scavenger hunt” led by Ty Blackthorn and Kit Herondale. As Ty and Kit navigate their romantic feelings and a mysterious disappearance, they must face Janus—the dark Jace from Thule—who plots to rule the world with a demon army. While featuring cameos from legacy heroes like Jace and Clary, the novel carries high stakes, including the confirmed death of a major character from the original series.

To do this, Agnes has to help her pretty cousin marry the new king’s son, Prince Liuprand, so they can sneak into his creepy castle and find the hidden rooms where the magic is kept. The world around them is full of rot and monsters, but things get even harder when Agnes starts to fall in love with the prince she is supposed to hate.
