June 20, 2024 fans opened their Instagrams to thrilling news. Sabrina Carpenter is going on tour! Many (including me) have been very excitedly anticipating this announcement. Now that the tour has begun it is an understatement to say that it surpassed our expectations.
Sabrina has come a long way from her Disney days which is especially seen through this album and tour. She has evolved to become the young successful, and fun woman she is. Thus to say this show is definitely meant for an older audience, kids are not advised to attend.
The opening consists of Sabrina having her title sequence. We see her drawn as a cartoon walking her dog and looking adorable as always.
It ends with the title on the screen displaying “The Short N Sweet Show” in bold vintage white letters.
Following this, a pre-recorded video takes place showing Sabrina relaxing in a nice bubble bath. A narrator begins telling her how she is running late for the concert. Like the famous popstar she is she is announced to come out in a very grand way.
The set is adorned with different rooms including a living space, bedroom, dining room, restroom, stairs, fireplace, and a second story. The set is meant to represent an actual home. Of course, however, it is much more polished and put together thus representing a home you’d see in a show, which is exactly what Sabrina wants you to think.
She walks out in a towel to reveal a stunning custom Victoria Secret body suit. It sparkles and is simply breathtaking as it reflects the shimmering stage lights.
The opening songs consist of “Taste,” “Good Graces,’’ “Slim Pickins,’’ “Tornado Warnings,” “Lie to Girls,” “Decode,” and “Bed Chem”. Throughout the first half of the show, Sabrina has two outfit changes.
The show has two different portions. Half is the daytime portion and the other is called “Sabrina After Dark”. Once dark begins, the background lights get brighter. Showing off their beautiful green, pink, purple, and blue hue. A pre-recorded video starts to play showing the audience that we are taken up 68 stories till we reach Sabrina’s infamous penthouse where a party is being hosted.
During this second half of the concert Sabrina sings “Feather,” “Fast Times,” “Read Your Mind,” “Sharpest Tool,” “Opposite,” “Because I Liked a Boy,” “Coincidence,” “Dumb and Poetic,” “Nonsense,” “Juno”, “Please Please Please”, “Don´t Smile” and a surprise song.
As the concert comes to an end, we see Sabrina in three new looks. Each look still complements the stage, songs, aesthetic, and more.
Before performing “Juno”, Sabrina arrests a fan in the crowd. Cause for arrest? Being too hot in Sabrina’s eyes! This is a very exciting part of the show which many look forward to experiencing.
There is also a segment of the show in which Sabrina holds a very girly-coded slumber party with her backup dancers. Sabrina also plays a surprise cover song. The ending of the concert concludes with Sabrina singing “Don´t Smile” while end credits are projected behind her representing the ending of an on-air television show.
Sabrina says her final goodbyes by playing a pre-recorded clip of blooper takes. Ending an amazing concert with a good laugh!
