Those who know Sophia Sanchez tend to agree that her lighthearted, bubbly nature is what draws them towards her, making her known for cracking jokes and sunny smiles that are sure to light up a room.
“It takes a lot to be a comedian, you know,” Sanchez said. As many seem to note, Sanchez’s carefree takes on school brighten everyone’s day, guaranteeing to turn any frown into a smile.
Despite being a freshman, she hopes to make it through high school still carrying her goals of working at Disneyland as a Jungle Skipper.
Sanchez mentions, “I want to work for the mouse… I’d love to be a jungle skipper… [and] make all those jokes.”

For years, Sophia has always felt a connection to the parks, especially with how frequently they used to visit.
“It’s part of my childhood… my sister used to work there… we just used Stephanie’s labor as a way to get into Disneyland,” Sanchez said, recounting the days when she could indulge in the park’s magic and wonder, building that nostalgia from a young age.
For her, Disneyland is something more than a park, it’s her childhood.
Sanchez noted how, for her, “The park is nostalgic. The park is beautiful.”
The connection that she has runs far deeper than the average park-goer, as she always seems to find joy in the whimsy of Disney, taking it upon herself to spread that joy with others, in any way she can.
Sophia’s friend and freshman Desiree Saldana said, “I’ve been happier being near her, with her jokes.. It makes my day better”
In more ways than one, her happiness carries onto others, giving them invaluable memories, and many more to come. If anything, at times, her honesty and blunt thoughts provide a refreshing change to tough situations, making them far more bearable.
“You can have a connection with her… she speaks a lot… [and] gives her opinion,” freshman Rena Wang explained.

Even without her knowledge, Sophia continues to make a big impact on those around her, pushing both her classmates and friends towards making changes to their lives for the better.
“She’s influenced me to be more outspoken… [to] talk to others more,” said freshman Alejandra Trujillo.
Providing her with the influence and space to be herself, Sanchez challenged the boundaries that Trujillo had set for herself.
For others, Sophia has helped in other ways.
“She got me away from some very toxic people… and she just makes school better,” Karly Rivas, a freshman, mentioned. “[She’s] bold…[and] stands up for people.”
Contrary to this, her lively presence creates a warm environment capable of cheering anyone up. From her strange stories to her impressions, she’ll always find a way to brighten up your day.
Saldana notes that, “she’s great company to be around…[and] a wonderful person”
With her spirited, confident attitude, Sophia is sure to attract attention, creating uniquely personal memories with the people she interacts with.

Freshman Kara Roman stated that, “She really makes me laugh… she’s like a very nice person to sit next to you”
From the very first day of school, she drew people together with her magnetic personality, connecting with those around her through her humor and her unique, creatively driven nature.
“She’s so fun…she was really energetic… but she’s such a cool person and I love her so much,” says Leyna Tran, a freshman.
Her classmates also seem to agree with this sentiment.
“She’s really nice and very confident and just [an] overall really lively person,” mentioned Roman.
Sophia Sanchez has changed the everyday lives of several people, as her joy is contagious, and her humor unending, proving herself as more than just your average student.
