Xander Small is a senior at Mt. SAC ECA. He has been here since his freshman year, in 2021. Reminiscing on his time in high school, he shared his most memorable moment, being his first home basketball game. Since MECA is an academic focused school, he shared that “[he] was so disappointed that we had no sports.” This is what made their first game so special to him. Basketball is a big part of Small’s life, just like many sports are. He also spends a lot of time playing football and is even on MECA’s team, as well as playing in all of the Mud Bowl series games. He also often participates in the House Competitions hosted each semester.
Currently, Small works at a HomeGoods store to make extra money, but after high school, Small is planning on going to college to get a degree. He isn’t completely sure where he wants to attend college but is thinking about some local schools. For a career, he wants to go into something related to finance or accounting. Though shorter-term, he is going to apply for some jobs over the summer and spend time with his friends. No matter what he does as a career, and in the future, it’s going to be great.
