Among the wonderful staff here at Mt SAC Early College Academy, there lies in the front office Ms. Julie. As a front office assistant for a year now, her job consists of many things including attendance and registration.
She also has been taking on the MECA dance team,“I saw the need for an activity and a few students had approached me and asked if I would be interested in creating a dance team, and I said, ‘Yeah! Let’s jump in and lets do it.’ So, we’re promoting school spirit, promoting fitness, and were also doing a little touch on competition and learning some good healthy habits and some life skills.”
Loving MECA’s campus, she expresses, “I would give it a ten plus on my scale. It’s friendly, it’s clean, and there’s so much kindness there’s a joy when you step on campus. It’s a feeling of home, it’s great!”
Nevertheless, this isn’t the only thing that makes her our amazing Ms. Julie. Even before working for our school, Ms. Julie has been working at Disney. “I did work there part time for many years and now I’m just basically on call when they need me. I started off [doing] custodian work there, I’ve done ticket admissions, my current role there is plaids. Plaids is like VIP tours. I give customer service over there, I’ve also been a character [for Disney].”
Even after asking her what character she was, Ms Julie never revealed Disney secrets. Although she did reveal a message for the incoming new freshman coming to MECA!
“[T]his school is full of spirit [and] opportunities. There’s amazing staff and students. It gives you a very small town environment if you’re looking for that, [and] don’t be afraid to try when you try something new, it might become a habit.”
Our MECA students and staff are thrilled to have Ms. Julie work here and can not wait for our future years with her!
