Graduating as part of the class of 2024, Cai Leung has made her years attending Mt. SAC Early College Academy (MECA). She became the lead of MECA’s Comic Club and plays on the Mario Kart and Valorant teams in the MECA E-Sports program. She was also a brief member of The Academy Chronicle, MECA’s newspaper!
Cai was kind enough to share her experiences of attending MECA. Going on record to say that she was a little distracted in her first year. When she was asked what she would say to her freshman self, she said, “Spend more time doing work and get off video games!”
But what about after she graduates? Well, after leaving high school and saying goodbye to friends that you may not see again, one is bound to feel a little bummed about leaving all that behind. Cai responds that she will miss being so close to her friends.
Although it may be a little sad leaving behind the memories you made during high school, you’re still opening up to brand new experiences and challenges, you could get the education for the career path that you want and college gives you a loser schedule than high school. Cai is especially excited about the independence you get. “[I’m excited to start] seeing what’s out there because I’ve been stuck, not stuck, I’ve been here my entire life.”
