Fans all around Los Angeles mourn the postseason absence of the Dodgers as they lose to the San Diego Padres 3-5 in game 6 of the National League Division Series (NLDS). This regular season, the Dodger’s set a franchise record of winning a total of 111 games, which was ultimately for nothing, as they lost in the first round of the playoffs.

Mt. SAC ECA PE teacher, Lauren Yao, feels very “disappointed about the Dodger’s having lost early in the playoffs.” She watched the game and felt “confident that they were going to win up until the 7th inning when they fell apart and gave up 5 runs.”

The Dodger’s were leading 3-0 until the seventh inning when the Padres rallied to score 5 runs in the 7th inning.

Similar to Yao, sophomore Kristabella Rodriguez thinks the loss is horrible because the Dodgers gave it their all this season but failed in the end.

The Padres eventually lost the National League Championship Series (NLCS) to the Philadelphia Phillies, who are advancing to the World Series against the L.A-hated Houston Astros.

I was upset! Especially after finding out that the Astros made it to the world series.

In the end, Dodger fans across L.A are devastated by the Dodgers tragic loss in the NLDS.

Sophomore Grem was “disappointed” in the loss because he believes that the Dodgers had the most potential to compete for another World Series win.

Dodger’s fans continue to hope that next season will be their year!
